Your first drum kit should make getting started simple. That’s why the BDK 1+ brings together the main drums, cymbals, hardware, and accessories you’ll need in one complete setup. You get a 22" x 16" bass drum, 12" x 10" and 13" x 11" rack toms, a 16" x 16" floor tom, and a 14" x 5.5" snare. Together, they give you a full-size five-piece layout with plenty of room to practise beats, fills, and coordination. Plus, the included drum silencing pads and cymbal mutes give you a quieter way to practise when keeping the volume down matters.
The 14" steel hi-hats give you a crisp sound for keeping time, learning accents, and working on syncopated rhythms, while the 16" steel crash adds another option for emphasising different parts of your playing. You also get an additional 18" steel crash/ride and boom stand. Play the crash/ride gently and you can bring sustained shimmer to quieter passages. Give it a stronger hit and you’ll get the extra rasp and attack needed for more energetic sections. And when it’s time for quieter practice, the included cymbal mutes help reduce the volume while you continue working on your technique.
The BDK 1+ uses 6-ply poplar shells across all five drums, giving your kit a deep, mellow character. This means you can get used to how the bass drum, snare, and toms work together while developing your dynamics and coordination. Poplar also provides the durability needed for regular practice, making these shells well suited to the repeated playing that comes with learning an instrument. With steel hi-hats, crash, and crash/ride cymbals alongside them, you have plenty of contrasting sounds to explore. When you need less volume, the included drum silencing pads and cymbal mutes let you practise your beats, fills, and coordination more quietly.
The included padded stool is height-adjustable, helping you find a suitable playing position, while the bass drum pedal features an adjustable beater. Your hi-hat, cymbal, and snare stands are double-braced for sturdy support as you learn. Plus, you’ll receive a pair of 5B drumsticks, a drum key, and the necessary tom arms, hoops, lugs, and screws. The included drum silencing pads and cymbal mutes also give you the option to reduce your practice volume, making it easier to fit more drumming into your day without always playing the kit at its full volume.
