The ESP LTD EC-1001FR incorporates a set of powerful EMG 81 and 60 humbucking pickups which provide a punchy and thick tonality when in the bridge position and a warm and crisp tone in the neck position. Constructed from close aperture coils and featuring ceramic magnets the 81 and 60 humbucking pickups provide advanced detail and a truly meaty tone. EMG pickups are favoured by many professional musicians due to their unbeatable tone, active circuitry, high output and low noise.
Mahogany is a fairly dense tonewood which creates a warm and rich tone with excellent depth. It also offers durability and a tone which will mature over the years, for a long lasting investment. A flame maple top gives this guitar a stunning and unique 3-dimensional appearance, as well as extending the tonal range of the mahogany. In addition, the EC Series body shape also features a single cutaway, which allows easier access to the higher frets and more flexibility across the whole fingerboard.
The ESP EC-1000FM's neck is made from mahogany, which is sturdy, and it offers a rich sound with plenty of warmth. The neck is topped with a pau ferro fingerboard that yields snappier and brighter tonal characteristics. Featuring a set neck that is easy to play due to it's thin U-shaped contour, this allows for the fast playing style that ESP guitars are celebrated for.
For many years Floyd Rose has been the leading manufacturer and designer of floating, locking tremolos. With a design that has stood strong for over 30 years the Floyd Rose locking tremolo allows you to adjust the string tension and pitch with the removable whammy bar to create unique sounds such as dive bombs. Unlike non-locking tremolo's the Floyd Rose bridge can make huge changes in pitch but still retain the initial tuning by addition of the locking nut at the end of the headstock.
ESP designed their LTD guitar line to be accessible to all musicians who want their dream guitar at an affordable price. Originally created as professional gigging instruments available off the shelf, they have grown in popularity since the late 90's and the model range has expanded to include nine models, like this critically acclaimed 1000FM Series guitar. The Ltd line also includes signature models from some of the world's greatest players including Kirk Hammett, Will Adler and Ronnie Wood.
ESP guitars are renowned for the quality of their construction and it's a well earned distinction, as this quality is present in all their guitars and basses, from their top end signature models through to the more affordable LTD models. ESP and LTD Guitars and Basses feature high quality hardware and design features that are indicative of a company that has spent 36 years designing some of music's most brutal, hard wearing and road worthy instruments.
