Made from ebony, the Monarkh's fingerboard has 22 jumbo frets and pearloid block inlays, making it great for fast licks and nuanced chord work. But it's the dual passive EMG® MF signature humbucking pickups that really light up this package. And for improved intonation and enhanced sustain, it has Jackson's TOM-style adjustable bridge with an anchored tailpiece and die-cast locking tuners. Born in Washington, D.C. in 1962, Marty Friedman is best known for the 10 years he spent as Megadeth's lead guitarist between 1990 and 2000. During this decade, his influence can be heard across five of the heavy metal band's most critically and commercially successful albums, including Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction. Alongside Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson and Nick Menza, this line-up is often considered the quintessential Megadeth era - selling over 10 million albums worldwide. Improvisation features heavily in Friedman's playing style, while he has often fused Eastern and Western music and other styles, such as neoclassical, thrash metal and progressive rock. Friedman has lived in Tokyo, Japan since 2003, making hundreds of appearances on national television.
