Lightweight headless design
The M6 Headless brings a distinctly contemporary approach to Sire's modern bass range, with a lightweight design created to improve balance and reduce fatigue during extended playing sessions. Based on Sire's four-string samples, the instrument weighs less than 8 lbs, helping minimise the neck-heavy feel that can affect some conventional bass designs. Its swamp ash M-Headless body removes unnecessary bulk while maintaining a purposeful, performance-focused shape, giving players a comfortable platform for rehearsals, recording sessions, and longer sets.
Flexible Marcus Heritage-3 preamp
At the heart of the M6's versatility is the Marcus Heritage-3 preamp with middle frequency control. Its three-band design combines volume/tone and pickup blender controls with dedicated treble, bass, and adjustable middle frequency controls, giving you detailed command over the instrument's output. Pickup variation switching adds further tonal options, while active and passive operation broadens the available sounds. This flexible electronics package allows the M6 to adapt readily to everything from pop and blues to rock and metal without complicating the playing experience.
Smooth contemporary playability
A five-piece hard maple and mahogany neck gives the M6 a substantial foundation, shaped to Sire's comfortable C profile for an approachable feel. The rosewood Edgeless fingerboard features rolled fretboard edges, helping the neck feel smooth and natural as your fretting hand moves between positions. Its flat 16" radius supports precise modern playing, while 24 stainless steel medium-jumbo frets provide a durable surface across two full octaves. The 33" to 34.5" scale completes a specification designed around controlled, confident four-string performance, with plenty of room for expressive playing across the neck.
Purpose-built headless hardware
Sire equips the M6 with an individual headless bass bridge designed specifically for this streamlined format. A generous 19mm string spacing gives each string useful room for accurate fingerstyle, pick, and other playing techniques, while the absence of conventional tuning machines contributes to the clean headless layout. A Graphtech Tusq XL nut measures 41.9mm wide, and the neck is secured with a five-bolt bushing joint. Black hardware maintains the understated modern aesthetic, while an official Sire gig bag provides practical protection and convenient transport from the outset.
