Granular engines that transform your sound
Lemondrop gives you hands-on access to granular synthesis in a highly focused and approachable format. It includes two independent granulators that let you take audio samples and reshape them into entirely new textures. You can stretch, pitch and manipulate grains to create shimmering pads, glitch-infused loops or ambient beds with natural movement. The grain view shows real-time activity for each voice, helping you see how audio is being processed and transformed. A third oscillator adds another layer of sound design, making it easy to combine granular tones with more conventional synthesis.
Use the built-in waveform library or load your own samples from a micro-SD card. The file browser is quick to navigate and the touch interface makes selecting and tweaking samples feel fast and responsive. This feature allows artists to build a unique sound set that reflects their style.
Touchscreen interface for fast control
The 2” touchscreen brings a direct and interactive way to control your sounds. X and Y modulation can be controlled by simply moving your finger across the screen. This gives you immediate control over two parameters at once, making it perfect for live performance or real-time editing. The dashboard shows active modulation, envelopes, filters and grain activity so you always know what the engine is doing. There’s no guesswork, and no digging through layers of menus.
Modulation is handled through a flexible system that includes two envelopes, two LFOs and a sequencer. You can assign each of these to any parameter and see the impact instantly on the display. The knobs can also be used to dial in specific values, scroll through options or adjust the XY gauges with more precision when needed.
Compact format with full gear connectivity
Despite its small size, Lemondrop includes everything you need to integrate into a full studio or live rig. It features mini TRS connections for MIDI in and out, line input, line output and clock input. This allows for connection with drum machines, external synths, MIDI controllers or sequencers without taking up more than a corner of your workspace. The USB-C connection handles power, so you can plug into a portable battery pack, laptop or wall adapter and start creating straight away.
You can perform with a MIDI controller for tactile note input and real-time parameter control or use Lemondrop standalone with headphones. It is flexible enough to act as a centrepiece in a minimal setup or to add depth and colour within a larger system.
Built-in effects to shape and finish your sounds
Lemondrop includes six onboard effects that can be used in two slots, providing up to twelve unique combinations. The first slot features flanger, distortion, chorus and phaser, which are great for adding movement or edge to your tones. The second slot contains delay and reverb, ideal for adding space and depth. Each effect can be customised directly from the touchscreen, with quick visual feedback on how it is shaping your sound. These effects are designed to work smoothly with the granular engine, letting you transform raw grains into finished, expressive tones.
